Flex Operator – Indianapolis, IN, USA

Job Summary
This position reports directly to the shift supervisor and must work in coordination with co-workers to be effective. This position is primarily responsible for producing quality product.

Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to the following:
• Read and follow instructions for each job
• Complete paperwork correctly and return it to supervisor at the end of the shift
• Maintain production rate on each product
• Troubleshooting production equipment
• Machine responsibilities include the following:
• Set up the machine (glue lines, correct diameter head, machine settings, etc.);
• Make sure the machine has required material;
• Check to be certain material is going into the machine correctly;
• Once setup is complete, turn machine on
• Make sure product is correct width, length and thickness.
• Make sure product has correct components.
• Inspect quality of parts as job is running
• Train new operators when assigned
• Aid in the production of quality products in an efficient and safe manner
• Maintain a neat and orderly workstation
• Follow safety protocol and wear required protective gear
• Must be able to maintain good attendance
• Lifting / moving up to 40 pounds consistently
• Standing, bending, stooping, reaching vertically as well as horizontally to reach parts
• Ability to perform repetitive task for extended periods
• Discuss machine status with incoming and outgoing shifts
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds to a height of 4 to 5 feet and hold away from body then place it on the floor.
• Direct activities of mixer/utility to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
• Perform other job duties as assigned

Qualifications and/or Skills Needed:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Experience operating & troubleshooting production equipment
Experience with preventative maintenance
Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude
Must have good reading, writing, and math skills
